Condolences
Dearest Carole, Maeghan, Evan, Kirsten and Graeme….I was sooooo saddened to hear about David’s illness and death. I wish you comfort. I wish you strength, especially during the Christmas season, where such loss is often felt the most. Memories are so precious, and nothing can ever take those away. May those memories, the love of family and friends and your faith in God carry you through. With deepest sympathy, Lisa

Carole and Family:
It was a great privelage to know such a wonderful and caring person as Dave. He and I shared many recipes, gardening tips and jokes through our many years together at Parks. He always had a big smile and a bigger hug for me. I will truly miss the “gentle giant”. May God give you the comfort you need at this time of sadness. Be sure that Dave is happy in that big barn dance in the sky.

We have gotten to know and love David as a friend, family member, father to his children and grandfather to his grandchildren. He excelled in all his roles in a caring and loving manner. He was a wonderful person.

We’ll miss your smile and that sparkle in your eye.
I’ll catch up to you at that rodeo in the sky.
Dear Carole and family, Norma, Susan and Karen
I was shocked and so very saddened to read of Dave’s passing. I knew Dave in high school and through our church, and there never was a nicer guy. I have fond memories of Dave and his family, their home in Sunnybrook, and his dad’s giant car – the Fury! He was funny, fun, and kind. I know he cherished his family more than anything, and I know you will be sustained by your memories of this gentle giant who graced our lives for too short a time.
Erna
I had the privilege to meet Dave in the 80’s in Kootenay National Park and from time to time over the years with Parks Canada. A gentle man and a gentleman, whose like we don’t often meet. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Dave was not only the kind of man people wanted to be, he was the kind of man people would be proud to be.
His wisdom, passion, and integrity shaped everything he did, and set an admirable example for all. I will treasure memories of him as a colleague and a friend.

Dear Carole and family
I was so sorry to hear that Dave had passed away. I always enjoyed working with him. No matter what role he had at Parks Canada, he was so very professional, helpful and positive. He continued to provide that helpful and supportive companionship after he retired. It was always a pleasure to spend time with him.
I was enjoying seeing Dave at the various Parks Canada retiree events, and will miss him.
The Garth Brooks quote you included in Dave’s obituary is ‘right on’ and so very reflective of the Dave I knew.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

I was very sad to hear about Dave’s passing. My heart goes out to Carole and family. Dave was one of the “good guys” in the Calgary Office of Parks Canada. I have known Dave over 25 years and he will be missed. Rest in Peace.

I have such lovely memories of Dave and enjoyed working with him on wildlife conservation in Parks Canada. He was so easy to be with because he was was so content in his own life.
Well lived, but gone too soon. I will miss him too.
All best wishes to his family
