Dear Vivian and Martin,

Please accept my sympathy on the death of your mother. My wife, Anne and I had many a good time with Nelda and Hugo at Chevron functions and other social events, and I remember well the sharp minds and wry humour of both of them. I also remember her normal response to Hugo’s very late homecoming after a bit of celebrating with the boys following an important meeting at Chevron – to greet him with a plate of very dried-up dinner that had been sitting in the oven for hours.

I know that you will miss Nelda as much as you did Hugo, but now they are together.

Dear Vivian, Harold, and family; Martin and Sharon,

My sincerest sympathies to each and all of you.

Your Mom was truly a special friend from the time we first met in Brandon and together wheeled our baby girls along the streets and avenues of Brandon. Is it really 58 years ago?

I have so many happy memories of her. She was so “upbeat”, cheery, and ready for anything. Always the gracious hostess and marvellous cook; you did confirm, Vivian, that she actually did peel the grapes for her salads!!!!!!

You will each have your own special memories of your loving Mother and Grandmother. May recalling happy times together bring you smiles, maybe even a hearty laugh.

I treasure the times she and I shared.

Hi Vivian, I am in AZ but have been away from my computer until this morning, as I was in Califnoria.

Just read that your mum passed away. I always enjoyed my time with your parents. I remember your mum’s warm smile, her welcome hello and great hospitality. Above all, she was a lady.

You were a good daughter to your mum Vivian, and I think that helps when they pass as we don’t have as many regrets. My thoughts are with all of you. Florin

While I know your hearts must be heavy at this challenging time in your life, please know that your wonderful mom has an amazing spirit that brought much light and goodness to the world.

The both of you are an amazing tribute to Nelda in so many ways. You live your lives well and true and are some of the purest people I know.

I can sense that Nelda, Bill and Hugo are very proud of you and will give you the strength you need as you march forward in your lives.
