Obituary of Nazir Halim NAHAS

August 10, 1943 – October 27, 2011 Nazir Halim Nahas beloved husband of Manzar of Calgary, passed away on October 27, 2011, at the age of 68 years. Nazir was born in Lebanon and immigrated with his family in 1976. He worked as a welder for many years and was actively involved in his Church and community. His biggest passion was fishing and his greatest joy was spending every moment he could with all his grandchildren. Despite his long battle with cancer, he continued to open his home and heart to all. Everyone knew him lovingly as either Babba, Amou or Jido. Besides his loving wife, Nazir is survived by his son Fadi (Jennifer); daughters Lamise (Pat), Fadia (Rob) and Sandy (Joe); his ten grandchildren Calista, Cole, Olivia, Kate, Reagan, William, Alexa, Isabelle, Reese and Oliver. He is also survived by his mother Eugenie; his brothers Maurice, Raymond, Ibraham and Gabriel; sisters Shafika, Therese and Nazira; and their families. Nazir is predeceased by his father Halim, his brother Edmond and his sister Raymonda. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of Peace Maronite Catholic Parish of Calgary (504 30 Avenue N.W.) on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
