Obituary of Cesare ROMANO

November 5, 1928 – October 24, 2011 Cesare Romano beloved husband, father and nonno passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at the age of 82 years. Cesare was born on November 5, 1928 in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1958 to marry his true love. He worked in construction and later became co-owner of The National Hotel. He loved working in the garden, camping and fishing with friends and family and was always there offering his help and making us laugh. He leaves behind Rosa, his wife of 53 years and sons Joseph (Rina), Frank, Tony (Donna) and grandchildren Cesare, Giovanna (Graham), Nicola and Kira. He is also survived by two sisters Maria and Lina (Giovanni and niece Rosa) and brother Nicola in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy. He is also survived by sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews in Calgary and Italy. His grandchildren Cesare and Giovanna were the light of his life and then he was blessed again later in life with granddaughters Nicola and Kira which rekindled his joy of being young. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Community Church (800 – 85 Street S.W.) on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
