Obituary of Scott David REYNOLDS

August 29, 1968 – October 23, 2011 Scott David Reynolds of Calgary and Toronto, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the age of 43 years. Scott had a great laugh. You know, one of those laughs that would make you smile even if you didn’t hear the joke. We miss him dearly. He was a cherished son to Kiltie and Herb Reynolds and a loving big brother to Sean and sister-in-law JoAnn. He was the “best uncle ever” to his niece (Erin) and nephew (Jackson) and friend to many around the world. Scott first asserted his independence and strong will at a young age and kept his parents on their toes right from the start. Scott completed his first post secondary degree at the University of Calgary where he studied History and Business and found lifelong friends in the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. His interests lead him to travel and study Spanish in Mexico. His continued interest in the world lead him to complete a Master’s Degree in History and then a second in Political Science from the University of Toronto where he made his second home for almost fifteen years and pursued work as a tax consultant. A recent trip to Australia with friends was a highlight for Scott. He loved seeing all kinds of birds in the wild that had been the inspiration for his life long companions, Coco and Ziggy. No matter where he travelled, Scott was always quick to make new friends and share his views of the world and his passions with others. Possessing impeccable taste, a dark sense of humour and a sharp wit, you could always count on Scott to bring you up to date with the latest trends in fashion and pop culture, and where to get the best feather boas in Canada. A gathering celebrating Scott’s life and his courageous battle with cancer will be held at Willow Park Golf and Country Club (639 Willow Park Drive S.E.) on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, interested parties are welcome to make donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Research Fund (Toronto), or to one’s favorite charity. The family would also like to thank all of Scott’s health care workers in Calgary and Toronto. The family will be planting a tree in his memory and in the words of his niece, “I hope it grows big enough so I can build a tree house with a special trap door to keep all of my love for him inside.” Scott’s spirit is free and flying high now, and we will always remember him and the joy he brought us all.
