Obituary of Ruby Fern FALK

July 30, 1916 – October 22, 2011 Ruby Falk passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane, Alberta, at the age of 95 years. She was the much loved mother of Murray Falk (Jane) of Calgary, Trevor Falk (Elisabeth) of Chatsworth, ON and Virginia Olive (Byng) of Cochrane. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Geoffrey Falk of Toronto, Amelia Falk Salter-Pedersen (Eric) of Calgary, Megan Mix (Calvin) of Innisfail, AB, Becky Heier (Randall) of Cochrane, and Heather Francisco (Tim) of Calgary. Ruby adored her four great-grandchildren, Carly and Camryn Mix and Lucy and Jonathan Salter-Pedersen. She is also survived by her brother Ozro of Didsbury, AB, her sister Mildred of Mechanicsburg, PA and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ruby was born on July 30, 1916 in Alsask, SK and was raised in Didsbury. She married Willard Falk in 1939 and they farmed west of Carstairs, AB until moving to Calgary in 1949. Ruby was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene in Calgary until declining mobility prevented her attendance. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Willard Falk in 1973, her parents Alvin and Mary Traub, her brother Ernest (1956), her sister Velma (1987) and her brother Harley (1998). Ruby was a gracious, classy lady who was loved by everyone who had the privilege to know her. Her mind was clear to the end. She kept up with current events and always enjoyed a good conversation. We warmly remember the great times as a family, most recently at Thanksgiving when she and almost all of her immediate family had a wonderful day together. We remember her for her strong faith and rejoice that she is now in the presence of her Lord and Saviour. We extend our thanks to staff members at the Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane for their loving and compassionate care of Mom over the past two and a half years.
