Obituary of Harold Aubrey REID

March 12, 1927 – October 22, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of Hal Reid announces his passing on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Hal has modelled great determination and tenacity living with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis for the past fifty years. Hal will be lovingly remembered by Lois, his wife of fifty-nine years, and their daughters: Patricia (Terry Wagner), Lynda (Alan Stracke), and Sheilagh (Peter O’Dwyer). Hal will also be lovingly remembered by his grandsons: Andrew Hartt (Kris), Rory and Tate O’Dwyer; great grandchildren: Emma and Ashton Hartt; his sisters: Dorothy (Merle Gardner) and Beth (Spencer Ahrens); brother Stuart Reid and brother-in-law William Brian Holtsbaum (Nina); numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Louise and Fred Reid. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Hal’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (designated for Research) or to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta or the charity of choice. A Celebration of Hal’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
