Obituary of Charles K LOUGH

April 23, 1928 – October 16, 2011 With heavy hearts we said goodbye to Charles Lough who passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the age of 83. Chuck will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 59 years, Adele; his children David(Wendy), Sandy(Ron), and Doug(Dianne); his granddaughters Erin and Dyllan. He is also survived by his sister Patricia Alexander and several nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Betty Norris and a nephew. Chuck was born in Brantford, Ontario and raised in Toronto. After finishing school he began his career at Massey-Harris and quickly moved on to work at Supertest Petroleum. In 1961 his sense of adventure led him and his family to Calgary. He continued his career in the Oil and Gas industry while simultaneously completing his CGA professional designation in 1968. He was awarded the Fellowship of the CGA(FCGA) and served as President of the CGA Association of Alberta. He followed his entrepreneurial spirit in a variety of business interests. Family and friends were especially important to him. He supported his children and grandchildren in all of their endeavours and activities. Golfing and skiing provided a lot of the fun he had with his family. Traveling to and exploring new places were special adventures he shared with Adele. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made directly to the MS Society of Canada, Calgary and Area Chapter. 150, 110 Quarry Park Blvd. S.E. Calgary. T2C 3G3. At Chuck’s request there will be no formal service. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Earl Grey Golf Club, 6540 20 Street S.
