Obituary of Caterina OLIVITO

August 8, 1928 – October 14, 2011 Caterina Olivito, beloved wife of Giovanni Olivito of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the age of 83 years. Caterina was born in San Giovanni In Fiore, Italy and immigrated to Switzerland in 1961 and then to Canada in 1968. Titina’s passion was caring for her family. She loved cooking and baking and enjoyed travelling and being surrounded by family and friends. Besides her loving husband of sixty-two years, Titina is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Sam Cortese; son and daughter-in-law, Pietro and Antonia Olivito; four grandchildren, Gregorio (Melissa) Cortese, Jordana (Jordan) Giustini, Caterina (Biagio) Veltri and John (Adriana) Olivito; great-grandchildren, Valentina, Luke, Jack, Julia, Massimo, Bianca, Jonathon, Cianna and Gabriele. She is also survived by her two brothers and a sister-in-law, Giuseppe and Anna Spadafora of Calgary and Giovanni Spadafora of Switzerland; sister and brother-in-law, Rosa and Bernardo Nicoletti and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Francesco and Angelina Spadafora and two brothers. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, (404 Northmount Place N.W.) on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Services to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
