Obituary of Ronald Trevor WALLACE

October 4, 1927 – October 13, 2011 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Father and Husband Ronald Wallace on October 13, 2011 at the age of 84 years. Ronald married his beloved wife Althea on June 18, 1953. They were deeply in love and cherished each other for fifty-eight years. Ronald was raised on and continued the family farm in Springbank until 1984. Ronald and Althea moved to a ranch in Montana for thirteen years and then moved back to where his heart was near his family at the “Homestead” in Jumping Pound. He was a cowboy at heart. His happiest moments were on the back of a horse. Ronald had many passions, including sports, politics, spirituality, working on the ranch and, most of all, family. Ronald was deeply devoted to his wife, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great many friends. Ronald is survived by his wife Althea; sister Doreen Watson (Arch); children, Noel, Terrill Shoults (Allan) and Donald (Teresa); seven grandchildren, Nathan (Mandy), Steven (Yvonne), Christopher (Diana), Matthew, Alyssa, Kegan, and Dacey; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Evie and Mya. Ronald will be missed by all who knew him. He had a gentle way and was the rock that his family leaned on. The family would like to thank the staff at Canmore General Hospital for their kindness, caring and understanding throughout Ronald’s stay. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. At Ronald’s request a private family service will be held. In living memory of Ronald Wallace, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Cochrane Funeral Home, 369 RAILWAY STREET, COCHRANE. Telephone: (403) 932-4740.
