Obituary of Agnes H. ALLON

December 12, 1915 – October 10, 2011 It is with a broken heart that Pat announces the passing of her Mum and best friend, Agnes H. Allon on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the age of 95 years. Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia, Mum grew up in Canmore and was the third of ten children born to William and Annie McLeod. She was a 1937 graduate of the Holy Cross School of Nursing. Ever my co-pilot, we saw the world together with her favourite places being Switzerland, Hawaii and of course, Las Vegas. Besides her daughter Pat, Mum is survived by her brother Alan McLeod (Shonna). She also leaves sons Peter and Jim, three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews will miss their Auntie Ash. Mum thought the world of her lifelong friend Martha Daigneault and Pat’s friend John McWhirter. Thank you to the staff of Newport Harbour Care Centre who were so kind to Mum, my “Sleeping Beauty”. I am especially grateful to Charmaine who ensured that I got home in time to have one last talk with Mum. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church (640 – 19th Ave. N.W., Calgary) on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Canmore Cemetery at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 22. If friends so desire, memorial donations to the Alumnae Holy Cross, c/o 92 Sinclair Crescent SW, Calgary AB T2W 0L9 would be appreciated. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Agnes Allon, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH Telephone: (403) 276-2296. “SEMPER FIDELIS”
