Obituary of Mona-Anne MAHONEY

December 22, 1934 – October 7, 2011 Mona-Anne Mahoney (nee MacLean), beloved wife and life companion to her husband of fifty-three years, Walter Mahoney, passed on to the Lord suddenly, without warning or suffering. She is now in God’s care and love together with her daughters, Sharon and Glenda, her parents Ronald and Rachael MacLean, and her brother Ronald MacLean. Mona is survived by her husband Walter; her son Patrick and his family, Teresa, Taryn and Connor; her grandson Jeffrey Halpenny; sister-in-law Laura MacLean; brother David MacLean; sister Susan Carey and all their families; and her lifelong friends, Jeannine and Roger Bouvier, all of whom wish her Godspeed to her heavenly home. Mona was a caregiver with a kind heart who loved all her children and grandchildren. She took every opportunity to play golf and bridge with many friends throughout her life. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Church (835 Northmount Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. A Private Family Graveside will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery later in the week, where Mona will be interred beside her daughter Sharon.
