Obituary of Hazel Mary WIRGES

April 6, 1917 – October 7, 2011 Hazel Wirges beloved wife of the late Oscar Wirges of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011 at the age of 94 years. Hazel was born in Tregarva, SK on a farm about 30 miles north of Regina. She lived on a farm near Lloydminister, SK then in North Battleford, SK. She moved to Calgary and was married in 1948. She started her work in creameries and later worked as a bookkeeper. Hazel had a passion for rug hooking. She was a member of the Handycraft Guild. One of her finest accomplishments was winning first prize at the Calgary Stampede for her rug work. She loved cared for her sons in their times of need. She also had a love for Bernard Callebaut Chocolate! Hazel is survived by her two sons James Wirges and Kenneth Wirges and his wife Carol and by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Oscar Wirges. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
