Obituary of Lorraine Alice MUIRHEAD

August 6, 1950 – Elk Point, Alberta April 29, 2019 – County of Rocky View, Alberta Lorraine Muirhead (nee Heffernan) beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the age of 68 years. Lorraine was born in Elk Point, Alberta and was one of nine children. Growing up on their beautiful farm, she had a love of nature, plants, birds, gardening, and horseback riding that stayed with her indefinitely. She loved capturing the moments and memories through painting and scrapbooking. She was a member of Eckankar following her spiritual path. She will be most remembered for her undeniable green thumb, and bringing a smile to those who knew her beautiful soul. Lorraine was happiest when hosting gatherings surrounded by her family, singing songs, playing games, and spending time with her grandchildren. Lorraine married Stuart in 1972 and built a family and started their life together in the St. Paul region with their two children Stuart and Lisa. They later moved to Bonnyville and loved time on the lake. Lorraine spent her last years in the Cochrane area with her children’s families and grandchildren. Lorraine is survived by her son Stuart (Caroline) and their son Julian; daughter, Lisa (Devon) and their children Rune and Maeve; sisters, Barb, Patricia, Elaine, Sharon (Bob), Dolly (Jos); brothers, Francis and Dennis, and numerous extended family. Lorraine was predeceased by her loving husband Stuart, brother Brian, and her parents Margaret and Gerald. Funeral Services will be held at Hainstock’s Funeral Home (), on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home.
