Obituary of Anna WAKOLUK

December 21, 1922 – September 26, 2011 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Wakoluk. She passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Anna was born December 21, 1922 in the village of Niewistka, Poland. As a young woman, Anna survived forced labour by Germany during the Second World War. She immigrated to Canada in 1949 under a program sponsored by the Canadian government. In order to repay her immigration debt, Anna worked as a domestic farm hand in Alberta. Anna endured many hardships and much suffering during her time here on earth. Anna is survived by her children, John Wakoluk, Irene Leptich (Karl) and Henry Wakoluk (Beverly); five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother in Poland and sister in London, Ontario. We pray that the peace that eluded her in life has embraced her in death.
