Obituary of Lillian Marguerite BOUDREAU

December 3, 1920 – Fort-Coulonge, Quebec July 11, 2017 – Airdrie, Alberta Lillian, beloved wife of the late Arthur Boudreau, passed away on July 11, 2017 at the age of 96 years. Lillian was born December 3, 1920 in Fort Coulonge, QC to parents Joseph and Jane Laliberte. Lillian married Arthur Boudreau in Gatineau, QC on June 19, 1948 and then moved to Buckingham, QC where they had three children, Gary, Rick and Linda. There they operated a florist shop and a toy store, but Lillian eventually became allergic to flowers and they had to sell the store, which set off the beginning of many moves. They moved back to Gatineau, then starting in 1963 moved to Pointe Aux Trembles, St Jean d’iberville, Dorval, St Laurent, Pointe Claire, Nepean, then in 1994 at the age of 73 Lillian, along with Art and her sister Edna headed west to be near their three children. They moved to Calgary, Leduc, Vernon and then after the passing of her beloved husband Arthur in 2005, Lillian eventually headed back to Calgary in 2011 to be near her daughter. Lillian worked for Canadian International Paper and then worked at CIP head office in the Sun Life Building in Montreal. Lillian was a tap dance teacher and had a love for all kind of dances and music. Lillian also played piano by ear and loved the fast tempo of swing music. Lillian suffered the first of two broken hips as she stepped off the train at Windsor Station in Montreal at the age of 50 and the second in Vernon at the age of 80. One of her strengths was her ability to heal fast and not to let anything keep her down. Lillian loved her family more than anything, and especially enjoyed spending as much time as possible watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Lillian’s other great pleasures later in life were to go out for lunch, dinner or both. Lillian loved to shop for clothes and dress up for dances and parties. She always looked so stylish, including during her last few years at the Bethany Home. Everyone loved the way she dressed, especially in her beautiful yellow jackets and sweaters. Lillian is survived by her three children and their families. Gary (Pam) Boudreau, Rick (Lynda) Boudreau, and Linda (Dan) Lenters, her twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
