Condolences
Dear Bob,
Lynn, Nathaniel, and I will miss Betty: she was a lovely, warm, enthusiastic, supportive, and talented woman who was always generous and kind to us. She was a crucial part of our lives, and we’ll remember her with love forever.
Much love,
Andrew, Lynn, and Nathaniel.
For Bob, Colleen and Blair – my thoughts and feelings are with you in your loss of Betty. She was extraordinary. I always remember her patience when, as ann adult, I took music lessons with her. She led life to the fullest.
My sincerest condolences to Betty’s family. As a quilter I will always remember her inspiring disposition and sense of humor.

Dear Bob and Family,
We are currently in Idaho at Gloria’s Mom’s place; Elizabeth Dunn phoned us with the news about Betty. We knew when we left Calgary that she had been readmitted to the hospital.
We feel that we have really lost a “special person”, and we know that you feel that your heart has been ripped out. We also know that she was hurting and tired of fighting her illness. She was a “super” lady who gave us a lot of fun times, good crits, and showed a lot of strength.
We will all miss her a great deal.
Take care of yourself,
Gloria and Merlin
Losing Betty is such a loss. She was always such a sincere and wonderful friend. A fantastic artist, too. Love and sympathy to Bob and the rest of her family. Love from Betty’s Earth Angel
Bob I was saddened when Walter H. mentioned to me last week that Betty was not doing well.
Please accept our sincere condolences, I do know you two were a team, and your loss will be heartfelt.
Give us a call, would love to meet for coffee sometime … I will always treasure the little hanging quilt that Betty gave me during my hostelling days.
Much love and respect, Jim and Judith
Dear Blair and Carol Ann…..
Your Mom was such a fine lady! She was so gifted and kept her life so “full”. She was an inspiration to all! I always was in awe of her quilted landscapes!
We are not able to join you for your Mom’s coffee due to a commitment with Dad(Clifford) but know our thoughts, our hearts and our prayers are with your Dad, your sister and her family, and of course, with you and your boys.
With our Love and Hugs
Keith and Donna(Sanden) Nelson

Dear Bob and Family,
I was saddened when I heard that Betty had died, even though I believe that she no longer enjoyed life.
I’ll always remember Betty’s outgoing nature, sense of humor, and beautiful art work.(I have a piece of it).
May you find comfort and peace.
I shall make a donation to St. David’s United Church in memory of Betty.

With Caring Thoughts to Bob and Family
We enjoyed having Betty as our friend and Horizon Village Varsity neighbor for a number of years.
Betty’s artistic talents were appreciated and admired.
Sincerely Gordon and Sylvia Anderson
Dear Bob,
May you have comfort in knowing that the ‘Bridge Club’ will be waiting with open arms. As a family, we had many great memories with your family, our New Years eve bashes, hikes in Sundre. We are so sorry for your loss and our prayers are with you , Colleen & Blair.
To Betty’s Family,
I am sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. We have lost a truly beautiful person. I was privileged to meet Betty when she came to my home to teach us Landscape Quilting. I had gathered friends together and we had a glorious day talking of colours in nature and creating our own “picture”. I smile as I look at this piece of art I created for I am not a sewer or quilter. It hangs proudly in my dining room. Now it means even more to me and I shall place Betty’s Obit behind the creation so that my family will “know” Betty.
Many Blessings on your journey through this sad time.
Sincerely,
Val Goodrow

To Bob, Colleen, Blair and your families:
We send our love and deepest sympathy to you all. Betty taught David in Gr. 1 and was a great contributor to our community, especially guides and scouts.
I also am the proud owner of two beautiful quilted pictures that she made. So sorry we cannot attend the gathering on Saturday because we are leaving on a 3 week trip tomorrow.
A special hug for you Colleen from Sheila
Kind Regards, Terry & Sheila
Betty will be sadly missed, a life long friend since age of 4. She was like a sister to me. We shared many happy times and I just loved her dearly.

Betty was a special spirit, loved her art quilts. We always looked forward to seeing her quilts hanging in the Roundup Centre at the Calgary Stampede. You could always tell how proud she was of this province and country. Our love and thoughts go out to you at this time.
Bob: Very sorry to hear about Betty. I will always remember my first residents and how much Betty use to love the room service

Bob and Family.
I just wanted to pass on my condolences and sympathy on the passing of your wife. I only met Betty a few times but I have know you for a long time going back to the days when you worked in the Payroll dept at Amoco for my Dad (Mel) and the likes of great people like Shirley C, Holland L, Dennis L, and Willard M.
Over the next few days and weeks you will have many memories of all the good times you spent with Betty.
