Obituary of Lawrence Larry DEMOSKY
August 20, 1937 – September 25, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather Larry Demosky on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the age of 74 years.
Larry grew up with his parents and three sisters on the family farm near Kamsack, Saskatchewan. After high school he became a surveyor and worked on railroad construction, underground uranium mining and nickel exploration in Western Canada. In 1961, he received a degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from Texas A&M University. He worked for several oil companies in Alberta and Saskatchewan. His work in the area of drilling and oil production gave him the opportunity for extensive travel in Western Canada, the US and overseas. He was a lifetime member of APEGGA. Larry spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, helping out on relatives’ farms and supporting his sons in their minor hockey pursuits as a referee and coach. He enjoyed nature, travelling, and reading.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years Lorraine; sons Vince (Mary) and Bart (Kerry); and grandchildren, Kayleigh, Reid, Paige, and Tyler.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, AB T6E 6K2 Telephone: 1 (888) 566 – 5864. www.ab.lung.ca.
