Condolences
We were out of the country and only now learned of Kate’s passing. Kate had a beautiful soul and was the most compassionate person I have ever had the privilege of knowing. She loved every one of the kitties in her care individually, from the “littles” to the aged; the sick, the maimed and all in between. In my heart I know she was met by many happy little faces at the Rainbow Bridge. God Bless.
It has been our family’s privilege to get to know and volunteer with Kate through ARF. She was a tireless and compassionate individual, truly devoted to animal welfare and will be missed by many. Judy, Steve, Stef, Sarah & Julie McDonald
Kate was a fun person. Unassuming and easy to be around. For at least 15 years she also played a big role in our lives as we tried to make Macphon Industries Limited into something and keep it something.
I first met Kate when we were both on the Board of ARF. I quickly realized her love and dedication to helping these homeless animals. Especially the cats. She loved and cherished each one as if it were her own. She would never turn away a cat that required help.
Sincerest condolences to Her Family,
We have all lost a very special lady.
I met Kate through an ARF event. She was there for the cats…we only met one, but her character and inspiration warmed me. What a great lady, she will be missed. My prayers go out to her family and all the cat that will miss her but so many saved because of her efforts and love for them.
Though had lost touch over recent years I have such fond memories of gatherings with Kate and mutual friends. Kate had an amazing sense of humour– and an even more amazing heart. Sincere condolences to her family.
I was priviledged to know Kate as we served together on the Board of Directors of the Animal Rescue Foundation for many years. Although she was definitely the “cat lady”, she would always give my two dogs, Keeva and Xena a kiss and good scratch every time she saw them. She was a tireless volunteer who always put the cats and dogs (yes, even the dogs) first and foremost.
Rest in peace, my friend.
Kate and I worked together for William F. White; she in Calgary, me in Vancouver. Kate was always my person to ask when I had a troublesome work issue that I couldn’t solve. She knew both accounting, and the computer software, and I could count on her to be calm, patient, and usually, very funny. It’s so important to enjoy your work, and I could always count on Kate for a huge laugh. She was immeasurably kind, and I miss her very much. I’m so sorry for your loss.
I’ve known Kate since the early 70s when I met her through her sister Sharon. We remained friends throughout, sharing adjacent suites at the “Bray” apartments and eventually a working relationship of 15 years at WF White.
Kate was a kind and good friend. I shall miss her.
Kate was a very special lady who gave her life to saving kitties through ARF, gave complete support to all of us that fostered the cats in the ARF program.
Kate gave her love, compassion and joy to all the precious little ones that came along with lots of hugs and kisses each and everytime. Kate will be deeply missed indeed, however will never be forgotten with her dedication to saving lives in the cat world.
I knew Kate through ARF where we worked for many years together building the cat committee. I am saddened to hear of her passing, she will be deeply missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. The cat community of Calgary has lost a true champion for the cause.
To the Family of Kathleen,
Was saddened to hear of Kathleen’s passing.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Kate was committed to saving and loving the cats in the arf program, and was always there for us. She has been missed by all. Peace, Prayers and blessings.
I send my love and sympathy to the Lynch Family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I met Kate through ARF and admired her greatly. Her energy was limitless. I last saw her around Christmas 2010 and she was excited about going home and getting back to work. It’s terrible that her health took a terrible turn for the worse. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her and forever loved by all the cats and ittens whose lives she saved. She was a wonderful person.

I had the very great pleasure of working with and getting to know this kind and generous woman through ARF. Bridget Ady
I knew Kate as a child when our parents used to have those monthly Highlander meetings and then we grew up and apart but never forgotten. I saw Kate last at Sarcee, she was so cheerful, as always and looking forwrd to going home to be with her precious cats. It ws ARF that re-connected us, she was so special in that program. My Dad often reflected on the Lynch family and I took him to visit Mrs. Lynch at Bethany.
Brian and Sharon, my Dad, my brothers and I all send our love and condolences, always remember your sister as that gentle loving, caring soul, she will always live in our hearts. Elaine McMurray
