Many happy childhood memories of time spent at the “Mackie’s Farm”. You always think there will be time for thank yous, but time goes so fast. So my thoughts are with you at this sad time.
P.S. Mr.(and Mrs.) Mackie – Thank you for sharing of your time and wisdom. Dog shows are not the same without you.
Avis, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Many of my favorite childhood memories take place out at Mackie Farm. I will always remember Lorne’s laughing voice out at the shows and how much he cared for us Jr. Handlers. Thank you for sharing him with us Avis, with deepest sympathy, God Bless.
Avis and family…Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. My father (Jim Campbell) exhibited many dogs under both Avis and Lorne over a span of 35 years. My father always had a story about Lorne that he would share with me. My sincerest condolences to you and the family.
Avis I have so many fond memories of Lorne he was simply one of the best.
I had a photo sent to me about 10 days ago, and it was Lorne awarding a BIS to Brett. It brought back so many wonderful memories.
I think of you often Avis, and my deepest condolences to you and your family.

Avis and Family, so sorry to hear of Lorne’s passing. He as well as you have devoted a great deal to the sport of dogs in Canada that is appreciated by so many. Our deepest sympathy to you and the family at this very sad time.
I have many fond memories of the “good old days” at dog shows in the Prairies. The Mackies were very much a part of those good memories. My heart goes out to the Mackie family during this time.
Dear Avis & Family, I too remember all the shows that were hosted at the Mackie Farm and the wonderful sense of humor Lorne had. May these words of sympathy help to comfort you today and may loving memories bring you comfort, warmth and peace.
Dear Avis and family … I was so sorry to see Lorne’s notice in the paper today. My early memories of being “in dogs” go back to the days of outdoor sanction matches at Mackie Farm, and meeting the two of you. In all the years since, I have always enjoyed a chat with Lorne at the shows and will miss his smiling face there. My sincere sympathies to you and yours.
Deepest condolences Avis and daughters. We spent many, many pleasant hours at Mackie Acres for sanction matches, a dog show and especially for those impromptu elimination classes that Lorne would spring upon the Juniors while they were having their outdoor classes. Lorne will be missed on many levels.
Avis and Family, We will have nothing but good memories of Lorne and his antics at the dog shows. We will miss him very much as the whole dog world will. Kindest of thoughts at this very sad time. Mary, Ron & Family.
Dear Avis and family,
I was so sorry to hear of Lorne’s passing. I will always remember the wonderful times we all had at Mackie Farm – both at all the “fun/sanction” matches and at the many AKC events that were held there. We had some great times, thanks, in a large part to the hospitality of you and Lorne. Lorne was always “larger than life” and will be greatly missed.
