Obituary of Deanne Joan DIETRICH
November 29, 1966– September 19, 2011
“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.”
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Deanne Joan Dietrich, a sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt, niece and a friend, at the age of 44 years. Deanne fought a hard fight for three months but in the end quietly drifted off on September 19, 2011.
Deanne was born in Calgary and lived here most of her life. She truly loved and was loved by the little people in her life. They brought true joy to her. Deanne also loved her animals and it always broke her heart when she couldn’t keep them for whatever reason. Deanne also loved to cook whether it was her Christmas goodies for all the family or just cooking for her friends. Deanne also loved to shop but was very frugal and became a Dollar Store frequent shopper and loved the deals on Kijiji. Deanne cherished the time with her family and friends and had the biggest heart and was always trying to do for others before herself.
Deanne is lovingly remembered by her sister Cheryl (Bill); brother Don (Jacqueline; nephews, Tim (Carolyn), Ryan, Brad, Nicholas (Meg), Eric (Brandi), Erik (Brittany) and Gage; nieces, Jennifer (Mike), Amber (Aaron) and Tiffany; grandnephew Matt;, grandnieces Jadyn and Zoey; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, and extended family that she had the opportunity to get to know. She was predeceased by her father, Kleon and mom, Joan.
At Deanne’s request no funeral service will be held, rather she asked that at a later date a picnic be held in her honour at Elbow Falls. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Calgary Humane Society, 4455 – 110th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2C 2T7, Telephone: (403)205-4455, www.calgaryhumane.ca. Our family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to ALL the care givers of both the Rocky View and the Peter Lougheed Hospitals. You all treated Deanne with the utmost care and attention. You saw the person and not the patient and that was so incredibly comforting during this very difficult time.
In living memory of Deanne Dietrich, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.
