Obituary of John David LeMAISTRE

July 9, 1950 – September 16, 2011 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John David “Dave” LeMaistre beloved husband of Liz of Calgary on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the age of 61 years. A much-loved husband, father and grandfather, Dave passed away after a brief ten month battle with cancer. His common sense thinking, combined with a quick witty sense of humour served him well throughout his life and provided comfort to all of us during his final days. Dave was born in Winnipeg in 1950 to John and Suzanne (Dimock) LeMaistre. Dave enjoyed an energetic and sports-centered lifestyle pursuing downhill skiing, golfing, curling and playing pool. In addition, Dave was an avid camper and Lucy, his latest four-legged best friend, will surely miss the long walks and campfire gatherings. During the past number of years he and Liz also had the opportunity to travel extensively and treasured the happy memories of those holidays. Dave will be sorely missed by his devoted wife of forty-one years, Liz (Anderson); his children, Jeff (Brandy), Chris (Dawn) and Mike (Kristina); and his seven grandchildren, Makaela, Nolan, Sydney, Reid, Lily, Ashley and Isabelle. He is also survived by his six siblings, Art, Jim, Mark, Mary, Anne and Susan and by their children and grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at New Life Community Church (7642 – 22nd Street S.E.) on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
