Obituary of William Bill WARNICK

December 28, 1916 – September 3, 2011 It is with sadness that the family announces that William Warnick passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 3rd, 2011 at the age of 94 years. A native Calgarian, William graduated from high school in Calgary, served with the RCAF during WWII, and then went on to attend the U of A. After returning to Calgary, William worked in the oil industry for General Petroleum, Home Oil and in later years as a consultant. He retired at a youthful seventy two. An avid golfer, William spent many happy days on the greens at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club and other golf courses around the globe. He loved to garden and his yard was always filled with flowers. He will be remembered by his children, Arlene, Barry (Judy), Robert (Anita), Deborah, and Wendy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his special friend Ulla. William was predeceased by his wife Mary and sister Katie. A Gathering Celebrating William’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family gives their heartfelt thanks to Marjorie, William’s friend and caregiver in his last days. Hats off to you Marjorie, you went above and beyond for him. As well, the family would like to express gratitude for the wonderful care provided by the staff of the Colonel Belcher, Dieppe Wing. If friends so desire, donations can be made in William’s name to the Veteran’s Food Bank.
