Obituary of TRICKETT – Douglas Alan
January 6, 1964 – September 2, 2011
It is with great sadness that Doug’s family announces his sudden passing away at the age of 47.
He will be greatly missed by his mother, Dale Machum of Grand Forks, B.C., his sisters Dawn Wrangler (Terry) of Nelson, B.C., Denise Holtorf (Jesse) of Elkford B.C. and Janine Bezpaluk (Ghislain Prince)of Beaumont, CA and his brothers Stephen Trickett of St. Maurice, NB and Jonathan Bezpaluk (Justine) of Devon, AB. Doug will also be greatly missed by his grandmother, Doris Machum; aunt Doreen Sorensen; uncle and aunt Delmar and Joan Machum; cousins Donald Sorensen, Brennan Sorensen, Darryl Machum, David Machum, Danny Machum and Karen Caldwell, and nephews Brandon and Logan Prince.
Doug had been previously married for 15 years to Donna Fillip of Calgary. Doug was born in Calgary and graduated from Lord Beaverbrook High School. He was a member of Local #955 – Operating Engineers, held a Red Seal Journeyman Ticket, and worked as a Crane Operator both in Calgary and around northern Alberta for many years. Doug had a probing, scientific mind with a particular interest in Physics and Astronomy. Doug also had a quick witted, playful sense of humour and a strong sense of justice. He enjoyed working with wood and hand made many beautiful pieces which he gave as gifts to family and friends. Doug loved the outdoors and had a special love for animals. He had recently taken up rock climbing with a keen pleasure.
A Memorial will be held at the Glenmore Inn, Foothills Room (2720 Glenmore Trail S.E.) on Saturday, September 10, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A private Family Memorial will be held at a later date in Grand Forks, B.C. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
