Obituary of Otto Johann HOLTORF

April 1, 1932 – August 30, 2011 Otto Johann Holtorf beloved husband of Ingrid of Calgary, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Otto was born on April 1, 1932 in Gluckstadt, Germany, the eldest child of Kathe and Heinrich Holtorf. It was in Gluckstadt that he met and married Ingrid (Rauchel), the love of his life. In March of 1957 they sailed on the M.S. Welheim from Hamburg to Halifax, final destination Calgary. Otto worked for CP Rail as a switchman until he retired in 1992. Besides his loving wife Ingrid, Otto will be greatly missed by his daughter Connie Bennett and husband Scott and granddaughters, Lainey Kate and Sierra of Okotoks; son Ron Holtorf and wife Jackie of Calgary; sister Gerda and husband Gunther Braack; and sister-in-law Lotti Holtorf of Germany. He was predeceased by his parents Kathe and Heinrich Holtorf and brother Rudy Holtorf. A Celebration of Otto’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
