Obituary of Tatiana SMITH

October 28, 1977 – August 21, 2011 After an inspiring and courageous 4.5 year battle with Cancer, Tatiana passed away peacefully this morning, at 6:00 AM in the Rosedale Hospice surrounded by her loving family. Tatiana was born in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan during the Soviet era and immigrated to Canada all by herself when she was just 21. Having no friends and no family, she settled in Calgary and worked hard to create a life for herself in her new country. She received her Canadian Citizenship during the year of 2007. Tatiana, one of two children born to Gennady Titov and Nadezda Titova, was the beloved wife and best friend of Dallas Smith. She was Mother to her beautiful little Princess, Sofia and Step-Mother to young Rand. Tatiana will forever be remembered by her loving parents Gennady and Nadezda, sister Aleksandra, brother-in-law Gena, mother-in-law Karen, sister-in-law Alana and brother-in-laws Kellen and Tarik, Nephew Kyle and of course her Husband and Children. Even before her lengthy battle with Cancer, Tatiana was an inspiration to those around her for many reasons, from the incredible journey she had taken to come to this new world on her own, to the compassion and constant care she showed to all those who entered her life. Over the past 3.5 years, Tatiana ventured out to start her own network marketing business and achieved amazing levels of success all while battling Cancer and raising her little girl. She has set an inspiring example that saw hundreds and hundreds of people world-wide following her blog, as she truly lived her life each day, as an example of how each of us should approach our own. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 2:30 p.m, at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Chapel, 5008 Elbow Drive SW. Flowers are accepted however if you would prefer to make a donation, they can be made to the wonderful people at the Canadian Women’s Foundation – Calgary Chapter, in Tatiana’s name (contact Alison – 403.984.2523).
