Obituary of Douglas Robert MARTENS

September 23, 1982 – August 17, 2011 Douglas (Doug) Robert Martens of Calgary passed away suddenly in Round Rock, TX on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the age of 28 years. Doug was born and grew up in Calgary and graduated from Bishop Grandin High School in 2000. He went on to receive a diploma in Computer Technology Information System from SAIT Polytechnic in 2005. After working in Calgary for a few years, he accepted an opportunity to work in the computer gaming industry in Round Rock. Doug is lovingly remembered by his parents Dianne and Robert; his fiancée Josselyn; his siblings, Karl, Christina, Ken and Colleen (Daniel); and his nieces and nephew Shelly, Jerome and Kaylee. Doug is also survived by his grandmothers May and Violet; his aunts and uncles, Joyce (Dave), Sharon, Dave (Linda), Marvin (Alana) and Leonard (Sherry); and eleven cousins. Doug was predeceased by his grandfathers Edgar and Henry. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 -90 Avenue S.E.) on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 -90 Avenue S.E.) on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
