Obituary of Marguerite SASSO

February 27, 1915 – August 14, 2011 Our dear Mom, Grandma and Great-grandma passed away peacefully in her 97th year at the Bethany Care Centre in Airdrie on Sunday, August 14, 2011. She was born in Dand, MB to Grace and Albert Manshreck, the eldest of three children. She was predeceased by her husband Valentino and her two younger brothers, George and Ralph. Marguerite came to Banff in 1943 and worked in the telegraph office. She married Val and moved to Exshaw where she resided for thirty-four years. Marguerite worked as a secretary at the Exshaw School where her love and support influenced many, and she was appreciated by all. Upon her retirement she moved to Airdrie where she kept busy with volunteer work, keep-fit classes and golfing. Marguerite is survived by daughters, Valerie (Gordon) and Cathy (Bill); grandchildren Nykol, Scott, Jennifer and Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Tess, Tori and Kaleb. Funeral Services will be held at Airdrie United Church (212 – 1st Avenue N.E.) on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Airdrie Cemetery.
