Obituary of Joseph James SHANNON

December 19, 1943 – August 14, 2011 Joseph Shannon, beloved husband of Vera Emma (nee Williamson) for twenty-eight years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the age of 67 years. He was the loving father of sons Aaron and Cory Shannon and Stanley and Bradley McBride, and was predeceased by his daughter Carmen Shannon-Lane, and his parents Leo and Virginia (nee Steward). He is survived by his brothers, Patrick, Daniel, and Michael; grandchildren, Jessica Marie, Chad, Jessica Dawn, Cailey, Laurren, Samantha, Samuel, Natalie; great-grandchildren Braden and Emily as well as numerous nephews, nieces, in-laws, extended family and friends. Joe was a second generation calgarian and his legacy as a partner in Optimus (formerly OPUS Building Canada) can be seen in many of the prestigious buildings in our city. What most people will remember him for is his love for his family, strong relationships, jokes, and his integrity which sealed many deals on the strength of his handshake. Joe will be dearly missed.
