Obituary of Mary ROTHWELL

February 3, 1930 – August 14, 2011 Mary Rothwell (nee Zmud/ Smood), beloved wife of John Rothwell of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Mary was born on the farm in the Bruno district of Saskatchewan. She loved her garden and spent many happy hours looking after her trees and plants. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren and spent many happy hours with them. Mary also loved to travel and managed to see many parts of the world and the beauty that is out there. Ever since marriage she was a full time mother and housewife and spent her life raising and looking after her children and home. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband John of fifty-seven years; children John (Desiree), David (Susan), Douglas (Debbie), Elaine (Robert) Szabo and Barry; her seven grandchildren David Jr, Jonathan, Jennifer, Callista, Stephanie, Catherine, and Jeffrey. She will also be remembered by her brothers Frank (Audry), Larry (Sharon); sisters Olga (Joe), Sally (Peter), Verna, Lorna (Wayne), and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her father Anton Zmud and mother Jean Indzeosky; brothers Peter, Ernest; and sisters Anne, Lena, Diane. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church (4903 – 45th Street S.W.) on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church (4903 – 45th Street S.W.) on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
