Dear Marlene,
Art & I are so sorry to hear that Ken has passed. I first heard about his illness just last winter when I was at your golf course in Palm Springs.
His passing will be a heaviness in your heart forever, but life, children and grandchildren keep us moving on. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Karen
When I first moved to Calgary 25 years ago I mentioned to a business broker that I might want to get involved int he general insurance business, he arranged a luncheon with Ken and then began a good friendship. Ken made contacts for me in his extensive network of friends and associates and helped me find my way. There’s no doubt that much of what we’ve accomplished in the Insurance business can be traced back to our meeting and continued association.
I lost touch with Ken since he retired and am very saddened to hear of his passing. I unfortunately was not able to attend the memorial service because of my travels but I’m sure it was well attended. I believe that ones wealth is measured by the people who call you friend. By this standard Ken was one of the wealthiest of men.
My sincere condolences to Marlene and Kens extended family.
He will be missed!
Lynn and I are sincerely sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. We, like a lot of his friends, will truly miss him. We were not able to make his memorial, but we were there in spirit.

To Marlene and family. We will miss your celebration of Ken’s life. We know you have lost a wonderful partner, father and friend. Our throughts are with you at this time.
Marlene and family: So sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. In life you periodically run in to someone who is just “a great guy”. That was Ken. Needless to say we’ll all miss him a lot, and Tuesday golf in Palm Springs just won’t be the same without him. We’ll have a toast when we gather in the fall and fondly remember Ken. Take care and hope to see you soon.
My heart is with all of you at this time. I will always appreciate Uncle Ken and Aunty Marlene’s kindness to our family. I know he was not only my father’s brother, but also his best friend. My deepest sympathy for Marlene and all of the family.
Two guys from Saskatchewan; many laughs and (mis)adventures; best man at our wedding; and, best man in our memories. Take care of one another during this most difficult time.
Dave & Sheila Steelbrand
All our best wishes to Marlene and Family.
Thank you for giving Ken the time off so he could do such a great job of organizing “Tuesday Away Golf”.
All his work was appreciated, and his ever present smile and laugh will be missed.
Marlene,
Unfortunately Bill and I will be unable to attend Ken’s Life Celebration, but be assured we will both be thinking of you and your family. Please accept our deepest condolences. With love Bill and Frieda
We were very sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. We have very fond memories of Ken and had many good times together. We will remember Ken as a great guy.
My condolences to you Marlene and the Cuming & Ellwood families. I have many happy memories of times spent with you both in Creston and Calgary/High River. My thoughts will be with you on the day of Ken’s celebration of life (and he did celebrate life). My hope is that only the fond memories which make you smile will be Ken’s legacy to you all. Please don’t hesitate to contact me, if you feel so inclined. Regards, Arlene
