Obituary of KILPATRICK – Mary May Cummings

July 27, 1926 – August 10, 2011 Mary Kilpatrick, beloved wife of John “Jack” Kilpatrick of Calgary, for sixty-three years, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Mary was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada with her husband and son in 1951. Mary served as a Wren during World War II with the British Royal Navy. She was a very creative woman, who played the piano and sang all of her life. She, along with her husband John, founded the Heritage Music Makers, entertaining at nursing homes and seniors facilities in Calgary. Mary enjoyed art classes, travelling with her husband in their motor home and spending summers in Canmore. Mary was also a great lover of animals and children. She was greatly admired and loved by her family and friends, put everyone before herself and was indeed a true peace keeper. Mary is survived by her loving husband John, son James of Toronto, daughter Janet Kilpatrick (Greg LaFrance) of Kansas, USA, daughter Elizabeth (Tony) Bowers of Calgary; four grandchildren Tracy Hankins, Tamara (Jason) Jansen, Robyn Kilpatrick and Sheena Ruhnau; two great grand-daughters Cydney Sinton and Katalyn Jansen. Mary is also survived by extensive family in Scotland. She was predeceased by her parents Janet and William Burns, and two brothers James and Victor Burns. Funeral Services will be held at ST.
