Obituary of Alvin Walter WEISS

May 26, 1924 – August 8, 2011 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alvin Walter Weiss at the age of 87 years. Al lived his life with honesty, integrity and loyalty. He served with the PPCLI in Italy, France and the Netherlands during WWII. Al was very involved in the establishing and running of the Parkhill Community Association and many community members appreciated Al’s contributions. He was very competent and resourceful, always ready to lend a hand when called upon for help or direction. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Flames and the Blue Jays, and was passionate about playing crib with friends, family and most recently members of the Royal Park Crib Club. He was a loving and dedicated father to Terrence (Rosemary), David (Edith) and Mary (Wade), and grandfather to Anita, Kimberly and Thomas. He will also be missed by his sisters Lilly Wilkinson (Roy) and Eleanor Wilkinson (Billy); sister-in-law Mildred; brother-in-law Ernie; numerous nieces and nephews; his former wife Anne and special friend Kay. Al was predeceased by his parents Mary and Louis; his brother Richie and his sister Delma. A Celebration of Alvin’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
