Obituary of Lochlan Francis McDonald
Lochlan (Lucky) Francis McDonald died, Friday, August 5, 2011 at Beverly Midnapore Nursing Home at the age of 72 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his sisters MaryAnn (Lavern) Doxsee, Marion (Tom) Davis; brothers Jim (Joan) McDonald John and Rod McDonald; nieces and nephews and Sean and Linda Marshall. He was predeceased by his parents and four of his brothers. Lucky was born in Vermilion and raised on a farm in the Clandonald area. He worked at retail and banking then in the oil industry. He attained the status of Party Manager at Chevron Exploration, travelling to Africa and all over the U.S. and Canada. After retiring, he moved to Calgary and was in real estate till his health failed him. Lucky enjoyed building and inventing things especially electronic gadgets, music and dabbled in painting. He enjoyed talking about his seismograph days and all the adventures, especially the one where he survived a helicopter crash. He especially enjoyed days his good friend Luigi Sporani would bring over groceries and sit and talk with him about various things.
A private Family Funeral Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
