Obituary of Jerry Ballados GARCIA

November 28, 1956 – August 3, 2011 It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of a father, friend and family member, Jerry Garcia, age 54, after a long, strong battle with multiple myeloma. Jerry lived his early years in Manila, Philippines, then went to work in Saudi Arabia to support his six sisters and two brothers. Jerry married the love of his life, Belinda, in 1986, and raised two children, Arlene and Paul, who think the world of their dad. Living the rest of his life in Calgary with his wife, children and mother, Saturnina, Jerry enjoyed going to work daily at Lucerne where he was a plant supervisor. Jerry enjoyed music – singing, playing various instruments and teaching his children about his passion. Jerry was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, but never lost his bright spirit. Jerry’s doctors, Dr. Herget and Dr. Bahlis, as well as his nurse, Marcia, worked tirelessly with his family to keep him healthy for his six-year battle. Jerry passed on Wednesday, August 3 with his wife, children, mother, sisters and many in-laws, nieces and nephews by his side. Just days before his passing, Jerry celebrated his twenty-fifth Wedding Anniversary with Belinda and all their loved ones and supporters. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Sunday, August 7, 2011 with visitation to begin at 5:00 p.m. and prayers at 6:00 p.m. It is with brave hearts that we celebrate his life at West Springs Free Methodist Church (742 – 85th Street S.W.) on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
