Obituary of RADDATZ – Hans

October 1, 1925 – July 24, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hans Raddatz on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Hans was born in Lindenbruck, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1954 with wife Lydia and son Frank. He resided in Calgary since 1958. Hans worked in the construction industry eventually starting his own business Raddatz Contracting in 1966, specializing in glazing and caulking. Hans always had a keen interest in farming. He spent happy retirement years on his farm planting and harvesting many crops and growing a large garden for his family to enjoy. Hans is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Lydia and four children and their families; son Frank (Debi) and their children Stephanie, Rianna and Mark; daughter Betti Stretch (Doug) and their children Carl and Laura; son Roger (Lisa) and their children Emily, Sarah and Ryan; and daughter Connie and her son Hans. And of course his much loved cat, Kitty. Memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, the Alberta Cancer Foundation or to the MEOW Foundation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank Dr. David Gill and the staff of the Southwood Care Centre. In living memory of Hans Raddatz, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES.
