Obituary of McLEOD – Douglas Francis
June 29, 1919 – July 20, 2011
Douglas McLeod beloved husband of Jill of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the age of 92 years.
Doug was born in Melville, Saskatchewan and served during the Second World War in Italy and the European campaign. He obtained a law degree from the University of Saskatchewan and worked extensively in child and family welfare, with McLeod, Ferner and Bruni, Barristers and Solicitors. Doug was dedicated to his family and close friends, and loved being active in a variety of sports, especially tennis and golf.
Besides his loving wife Jill, Doug is survived by his children, Catherine, Sheila (Don Risseeuw), Nancy, Roderick (Catherine Quinn) and Malcolm; granddaughters Catherine and Jenna; and brother William (Phyllis).
A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
