Obituary of MILNE –Jayne

June 20, 1953– July 18, 2011 Jayne Milne passed away peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the age of 58 years, following a brief, but very courageous battle with cancer. Jayne was born June 20, 1953 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was a member of the first graduating class of Central Memorial High School in 1971. Following her graduation, Jayne commenced employment in the oil and gas industry, and joined Petro Canada as one of the first Calgary employees in 1976. Jayne was instrumental in the development and progress accomplished in Petro Canada’s infancy. She epitomized the energy, imagination, and dedication of the employees. Jayne was a leader orchestrating numerous community efforts including the annual Toy Mountain and Teddy Bear Toss. She was also involved with the non profit organization, AARC, mentoring a number of successful participants. Jayne was predeceased by her father Sydney (August 1977) and Mother Ruth (June 2009). Jayne treasured time with family and viewed retirement as an opportunity to share more cherished moments with those she loved. She is survived by her sister Lois Milne (David Pow) and their daughters Jessica and Kristen; brother Dave Milne (Shirley Arnott) and his children Sydney (Sean Crowe) and Doug. A special thanks to the staff of Unit 93 at the Rockyview General Hospital who provided exceptional care. Jayne especially wanted to acknowledge Dr. Avis Boyar, Dr. Erika Penz, and Dawn Stockman for their outstanding compassion and support. A Private family memorial service will be held.
