Condolences
Dear Janice, Gordon and Family,
It is with sadness that I read of the death of a dear Mother and Grandmother. Thoughts and prayers are with you all today.
May the knowledge of seeing your loved one in eternal life sustain you today.
With love,
Betty and Glen Adams
Darlene, Rick & family,
We were so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you. May the many happy memories of your mother bring you comfort now and in the times to come.
Take care,
Karen (Inch) & David Gilliss
We send our condolences to the Haney family at this time.
Ruth was a long-time great friend to my mother, Elsie McLellan, and our dads were good friends too, working together in ministry throughout the Maritime provinces (many years ago).
It was good to have a short visit with Bob & Jane at the UNB reunion, and we want you to be sure that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.
So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. She was a dear lady and I have fond memories of her….so kind and caring . Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Brenda
On behalf of the congregation of Hillsborough Baptist Church, I would like to extend our condolences to all of the Haney family.
Ruth and Pastor Floyd had a wonderful ministry during their years of service in Hillsborough and in the Salem and Weldon churches as well. Over the years, many people from the church and the community have fondly remembered them to me and shared their appreciation for this dear couple.
Ruth was widely respected for her gifts of hospitality, her commitment to her family and for her supportive ministry partnership with Pastor Floyd. Many have also shared their gratitude for the ladies home Bible study which she led for many years and for the engaging way she taught her Sunday school class.
She exemplified 1Corinthians 15:58 in her life which calls us to “…be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the word of the Lord…”
We give thanks for the joyful and engaging way in which she served and for her deep commitment to her Lord and Saviour.
A donation to Samaritan’s Purse is being made in her honour.
The Lord’s strength and blessings to you all.
Rev. Dean MacDonald
Dear David and Brenda
I wanted to add a personal word to you and to your family. Your Mum was a wonderful lady and I am grateful that I have had the joy of meeting her and being a personal recipient of her hospitality. She exuded such character and personal strength which I know was a great influence on all of her family. We will be thinking of you in the days ahead.
We bought the same parsonage in Hillsborough several years ago so we would love to have you come sometime and see the home where you were raised.
With fond affection.
Dean and Louise

Dear David,
Thank you so much for letting me know about your mom. I only met her one time so enjoyed the visit. I loved getting her card each Christmas and keeping up with her family. She was a precious link to Brian’s family. My prayers are with you all in this loss. It is so hard to lose a precious Mother and the girls and I will keep you all in our prayers in the days ahead. Please tell the others I am so sorry for your loss.
Dear Janice, Gordon & Family:
We are sending our thoughts and prayers to you and your families at this time. Janice, your Mother and Father were a very “Special Couple”. Your mother always had such a beautiful smile. Your Mom’s life, standards and convictions are so much a part of your own life, and so her testimoney will ive on through you. What a precious thought. Today, she has come to full understand what her Christian Life has been all about. What a glorious hope for one who has lived her life in preparation for her eteral home… Praying that our Lord will surround you with His Love, and that His Presence will fill you with His Peace. With Special Thoughts and Love to you all. Al & Betty
Dear Janice, Gordon & Family
We remember your Mum as a wonderful Christian lady who always had a smile. When our girls were little they used to think she was a fairy godmother! We also remember her as a good friend to our Mother, Caroline Forman. Mum always looked forward to Ruth’s letters and her many phone calls.
We know you will miss her, but how wonderful it is to know that because of her faith she is now in heaven. Our prayers and thoughts are with you!
Sincerely
Merle & David Balmain
Janice and Gordon,
I just read in The Gleaner of Janice’s mother’s death. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time of loss. Grumpy Chase told me something very meaningful when I lost my Dad and I share it with you now in hopes it helps. Grumpy said “don’t try to stop the hurt, it is a measure of the deep love you shared with each other”. Love, Gail
