Obituary of AMBROSIO – Rosa

October 3, 1920 – July 9, 2011 Rosa Ambrosio peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the age of 90 years. Rosa was born in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy. She married her beloved husband, Antonio, and together they immigrated to Canada in 1948 with their young family. They settled in Kimberley, B.C. where she remained until 2009 when she relocated to Calgary. In Rosa’s long and rich life she experienced many changes and faced them all with dignity and strength. She will be forever remembered for her kindness and generosity. As the matriarch of her family, Rosa especially loved to gather everyone together for her wonderful meals and celebrations. Rosa is survived by her children; Teresa (Fred) Finley of Calgary, AB, John (Lori) Ambrosio of Maple Ridge, BC, Guy (Lorraine) Ambrosio of Anchorage, AK and Tony (Patty) Ambrosio of Medicine Hat, AB, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, brother John (Lorraine) Alessio, and sister Mary (Joe) Nemeth. Rosa was predeceased by her loving husband, Antonio in 2006, her brother, Dick, and her parents, Isabella and Giovanni. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a private family internment at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
