Obituary of GIBB – Gilbert Girard Gil

November 20, 1942 – July 8, 2011 Gil Gibb beloved husband of Debbie Windle of Calgary, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the age of 68 years. Gil was born in Lethbridge, grew up in Welling and attended school in Magrath. In 1956 he moved to Edmonton where he graduated from the U of A in 1965 with his Bachelors Degree in Economics. He completed his MBA at the University of Western Ontario in 1968. Gil began his forty plus year career as an investment advisor with Cochrane Murray in 1970 in Edmonton. He served as branch manager, regional manager and served as chairman with the Investment Dealers Association in the mid 1980’s. Gil moved to Calgary in 1996 with Yorkton Securities. He was currently employed with Union Securities in Calgary. Gil loved vacationing in Tucson, AZ, golfing and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. Gil is survived by his loving wife Debbie, four daughters Kerry (Brent) Hite, Heidi (Brian) Undershute, Morgan Windle and Jaime Windle, three grandsons Aiden, Owen and Coleman, three brothers Jim (Lavonne) Gibb, Guy (Sheila) Gibb, Richard (Sharon) Gibb, one sister Edith (Paul) Scown, sisters-in-law, Sharon Gibb, Bev (Brian) Garlough, Janet (Norm) Bottum, Debbie’s mother Eleanor Donaldson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
