Obituary of DOUGLAS – William John Jack

October 24, 1921 – July 8, 2011 Jack Douglas of Calgary, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Jack was born and raised in Milton, ON and came out to Calgary in 1940 while a mechanic in the RCAF, where he met his future wife. Jack was very proud of his service as a pilot in England during World War II and regaled his grandchildren with memories of his exploits overseas. After the war, Jack had a successful career as a salesman because of his straightforward honesty and ability to relate to everyone he met. Jack and Helen made many lifelong friends during Jack’s sixty-two years as a member of the Gyro Club. Jack is the loving father of Lynn (Brian) and Donna (Doug) and was adored by eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife Helen in 2002.
