Obituary of McCARTNEY – Roberta

May 2, 1935 – July 6, 2011 Roberta J. McCartney, beloved wife of Brian McCartney, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in her seventy-seventh year after a long struggle with lung disease. Roberta was born in Toronto, the daughter of Eleanor and Ron Deyell, and grew up in Toronto, Banff and Calgary. She attended Normal School in Vancouver and later taught elementary school in Vancouver and Calgary. Following her marriage to Brian in 1956, she raised her family living in Calgary, Edmonton and London, England. Roberta is survived by her four children, Scott (Kerry), Bruce (Gay Lynn), James (Ellen) and Heather (Armin). She was also blessed with and very proud of nine grandchildren, Duncan and Andrew, Kevin, Peter and Holly, Beau and Tate, and Katie and Anna. She is also survived by nieces, Jennifer, Shannon and Kelly of Toronto. Roberta was predeceased by her parents and brother Robert Deyell of Toronto. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through .
