Obituary of BLYTH – William Barrington

May 24, 1928 – July 4, 2011 Bill Blyth, beloved husband of Carol Blyth of Calgary, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 at the age of 83 years. He was born in Esterhazy, Sask. After receiving a degree in Geophysics from the University of Manitoba, he worked in the Seismic Exploration area and later as a Stockbroker. Bill is survived by his wife, Carol, sister Betty Cornwell of Winnipeg, sons Scott (Mary), Stuart (Sherri), Steven (Tiffany) and daughter, Sharon. His children were his greatest pride- three Doctors and a Lawyer. Also surviving are grandchildren; Colin, Andrew (Teresa), Jillian, Meagan, Graham, Evan, Quinn and Owen and three great grandchildren; Alejandro, Naomi and Fernando. Bill was predeceased by his mother, Miriam, father Allan and sister, Doreen Welden. Bill was actively involved in Hockey as a Coach, as a Founder of the Southwest Athletic Association and Owner/Manager of the Calgary Cowboys Junior A team. Sincere appreciation and thanks to the staff at the Beverly Care Centre Glenmore and to the caring, considerate staff of the Peter Lougheed Hospital Emergency Department. A private family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
