Obituary of MILLMAN – Shane

July 23, 1981 – July 3, 2011 Our Shane, precious husband, son, brother, grandson, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend passed into the wide open, gracious and loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the age of 29 years. Shane was born and raised in Calgary. He was involved in every sport imaginable from golf to soccer, hockey, baseball, and established a tremendous group of friends. He graduated from Central Memorial High School and later worked at various restaurants and golf courses throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. He graduated from SAIT and also completed several diplomas and international certificates in the IT industry. Shane, your life specialty was definitely in networking, both in people and computers! You could accomplish anything you put your mind to. You were creative, witty and a computer guru, leading you to start your career in computers with Bennett Jones. Your network of friends also was vast, crossing several circles and often bringing them together. Your greatest legacy to those you have left behind is your big and tender heart. You loved people, all too often putting their hearts before yours. On July 4, 2009 you married your princess, Taryn, and she truly was the love of your life. Taryn was your rock and your reason. She made you a better man. You have left us too soon, and our hearts are broken. Shane is survived by his loving wife, Taryn; devoted parents Cheryl and Darrell; sisters, Tanis (Ryan) Atkins and Crystal (Chris) McFarlane; niece and nephews, Brayden, Ainsleigh and Caleb; grandmother, Joan Wiese; and grandfather, Carl Millman. Shane is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lotti Wheeler; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-law family who adored him. Shane was predeceased by his grandfather, Al Wiese; and grandmother, Jennie Ganoe. He follows in the footsteps of his father-in-law, Brant Wheeler, who passed away four days earlier. Funeral Services will be held at CENTRE STREET CHURCH (3900 – 2nd Street N.E. Calgary) on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
