Obituary of SIMEON – Nancy Harriet

July 31, 1945 – June 29, 2011 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Harriet Simeon (nee Fox) on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the age of 65 years. Harriet was born on July 31, 1945, the daughter of Joe and Nancy Fox of Morley, AB. Due to the loss of her mother at birth, Harriet was culturally adopted and raised by the late Maggie Swampy and Louie Wildman. Harriet attended the Morley residential school for her education and later attained vocational training. Her dedication, punctuality, ethics, and hard work clearly showed in the forty years of employment with Stoney Tribal Administration. Harriet truly “walked the talk”. She was a very generous, kind, caring, and loving person. She shared good laughter with those she cherished, loved and all who met her. Harriet was a woman of honour and integrity. Harriet will be lovingly remembered by her children, Angela (Aaron) Young, Shane (Jolie) Simeon, and Tonya (Jason) Simeon; her grandchildren, Aaron Jr. (Kalena), Gabriel (Randi), Kylen, Nicole, Jade, Sheena, Noelle, Tyson, Strawberry, Teyla, and Beau; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Wilfred (Mary), Maryanne, Irene, Brian, Craighton, Shirley, Karen, Jennifer, Delia, Marilyn, and Clifford; her adopted siblings, Earl Wildman, Nelda, and Sylvia (Gordon) Bigstoney; her sister-in-law Tina Fox and brother-in-law Glenn Simeon; as well as the extended family of Kaquitts, Wildman, Twoyoungmen, Poucette, Hunter, Simeon, and Labelle and numerous relatives. Harriet was predeceased by her son Merle (1977); daughter Nancy (1968); husband Urban (1998); her brothers, Joe, Kent, Reggie, Barney, and Jack Fox; mother-in-law Edna (2008); and father-in-law Charlie (1982). Wake Services will be held at the residence of Harriet Simeon (Morley, AB) on Saturday and Sunday, July 2 and 3, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Chiniki Cemetery (Morley, AB).
