Obituary of GOSSETT – Hazel Irene

January 12, 1913 – June 29, 2011 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Hazel Gossett on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the age of 98 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of seventy seven years, Fred Gossett, her sons Gordon (Diane) Norm (Marilyn) her six grandchildren; Calvin Gossett (Shirley), Janet Bradshaw, Jill Johnsgaard (Wayne), Cary Gossett, Tracey Jessey (Dave) and Trish Stiles (John) and ten great grandchildren; Travis and Chanelle Bradshaw, Jordan and Josh Johnsgaard, Madison Pedersen, Brittany and Tarri Jessey, Brayden Beckley and Brooklyn Stiles, Colton Gossett and Kayla. She is also survived by two brothers Grant (Edith) and Richard and several nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters Loretta, Jean, Dorothy and Francis, brothers; George, Alex and Jack and grand daughter Tarri Pedersen (Dan). Hazel was born in Cayley, AB. She was the second oldest of ten children. Hazel spent most of her younger years in High River where she went to school and then met Fred. She began her married life with Fred in Okotoks and soon after moved to Calgary where she had her two sons. She lived in Calgary ever since. Hazel loved to have a good time especially at family reunions in High River and DeWinton. Her fondest activities were spent doing needle point, gardening, travelling, bridge, gin rummy, golfing at Canyon Meadows Golf Club. She was an avid curler for many years at the Glencoe Club. The past thirty years have been a very important part of her life because she belonged to the Calgary Gyro Club (Gysettes) where she made many important friends. A Celebration of Hazels life will be held at Living Spirit United Church (629 – 49th Avenue S.W.) on Monday, July 4, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
