Obituary of OBUCK – Sheila Tommy

December 20, 1940 – June 28, 2011 Sheila Obuck of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the age of 70 years. Sheila was born in Calgary and was a resident here for her whole life. She was a resident of the Dr. Vernon Fanning Centre for the past eight years. She raised four children and worked full time for many years, including her last job at Safeway before she became ill. She loved people and was well known for her friendliness and helpfulness. Even in her last years when she became wheelchair bound, unable to eat or speak, her mental state was perfect allowing her to continue to show her wonderful spirit and sense of humour to all who knew her. Sheila was an inspiration to everyone who crossed paths with her and she will be sorely missed by all. Sheila is survived by daughters Janet (Michael) Michaud and Laurie (Doug) Smithies, sons Ron (Christina) Hunt and Jeff Hunt, grandchildren Troy, Amber, Christopher, Shivaun, Dana, Cody, three great grandchildren Tyler, Thomas and Mikaela. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Bob) Schwartzenberger and sister Marilyn Spykerman. Sheila was predeceased by her husband Gene Obuck and her parents Chris and Mary Schwartzenberger. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST.
