Obituary of LINDEN – Florence Flo

April 28, 1913 – June 27, 2011 We are sad to announce the passing of Florence Linden on June 27, 2011 at the age 98 years old. Florence “Flo”, brought joy and light into every room and every occasion. Her hilarious stories of her childhood in Crossfield with her family, her uninhibited glee at any gathering of friends and family, and the beautiful memories of a life time filled with laughter and shared joy is her great legacy. Flo’s sense of fun, her mischievous ways and great generosity was shared with her many nieces and nephews, and she never ceased to spoil her grandsons who adored her. Flo loved her daughters Donna and Darlene completely and “the girls” were always there for Mum. Flo was happily married to David Linden for fifty years and after his passing, she was blessed again to find another gentleman to share love and laughter with in John Groth. Her passing is met with sadness, but her beautiful optimism, her sunny demeanour, the fun she had with friends and family, are a wealth of joyous stories to share and celebrate a life well lived. Flo is not gone; she has merely stepped out for a bit. Flo is survived by, her beloved daughters Donna and Darlene; grandsons, Hugh, Chris (Karen), Sam, and Ben; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Flo was predeceased by her husband of fifty years David Edward Linden (1908-1986), her fifteen siblings; the Patmore family of Crossfield, AB and her long time companion John Groth. A Celebration of Flo’s Life will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Those who wish to attend please reply to LindenFamily@shaw.ca, or call 403-210-2547.
