My mother, Yone Young, hired Maria as a live in housekeeper during the late 1960’s where she became one of the family and a close personal ally. We teamed up “against the system” and had tremendous fun. A year hasn’t gone by during which I haven’t recalled one or more of our mostly harmless adventures. She and Yone stayed in touch as best they could. How ironic that my Mother is at Foothill getting cancer treatment and that I came to Calgary from Santa Barbara last week to visit. Maria was a bright fun filled light who I will never forget.
